We can insure your life and everything in it. Morris & Reynolds Insurance offers all forms of life insurance for individuals, families and businesses. Our life insurance solutions are from strong, well rated, insurers that offer competitive costs and the peace of mind that you deserve when you, your family and your business suffers a loss.

If someone relies upon you financially, you need life insurance.

If you’re income is important to a loved one life insurance can provide critical financial support to them if you die prematurely. Permanent life insurance can also help you establish a fund you can access for planned life events like college or retirement, or for emergencies and opportunities. Later in life, it can help you transfer your wealth to the next generation, offset estate taxes and serve other important purposes.

Businesses use life insurance to fund buy sell agreements, provide protection in the event a key person dies and in some cases provide executives with long term savings.

People purchase life insurance for a variety of reasons including personal and business protection. In some cases a business agreement, mortgage, divorce decree, business or estate valuation or other contract will stipulate how much coverage you should carry. In other cases you will want a limit that will give you the peace of mind you need to know you are adequately protected.

The agents and underwriters here at Morris & Reynolds can prepare a Life Insurance Needs Analysis to help calculate how much coverage might be best for you. You can start by identifying what you want your life insurance to do. For example, if you’re the head of the household, you probably want your life insurance to replace your income for a certain number of years in case something happens to you. Most experts say you should consider life insurance coverage worth five years of your current income. Life insurance can also help ensure funds are there for college tuition, final burial expenses and to cover outstanding debt.

Term insurance is pure protection. Term life insurance provides affordable, pure protection, coverage to meet your temporary needs. Term life insurance is typically low in cost and the insurance company that writes your policy pays your beneficiary following your death. There is no cash value or savings aspect with most term life insurance policies. Term life insurance may be the right fit for you if you are looking for:

  • Guaranteed coverage for a specific amount of time or to cover specific financial obligations for a business agreement, divorce or other short term need.
  • Protection for your family on a limited budget
  • Level premiums that are guaranteed not to change
  • A complement to an employer’s life insurance plan

You can select a term of 10, 20 or 30 years and during the ‘term’ the premium, once approved, remains the same. A variety of riders, or endorsements, allow you to tailor your coverage to meet your unique needs including an ability to convert your policy to a permanent contract for your long term needs.

Permanent life insurance provides a stable long term solution to your protection needs. In addition to the death benefit that is included, most permanent policies build cash value over time, and you can access this cash value for emergencies, opportunities or planned life events such as a college education or retirement.

There are many different types of permanent policies. Whole Life products usually offer level premiums and strong, traditional guarantees, such as a schedule of guaranteed values. Universal Life offers great flexibility (you can increase or decrease your premiums, or even stop them, for a period of time) and pays relatively current interest rates to build cash value. Single Payment (Premium) Whole Life buy with one payment. Because the death benefit is higher than the single payment, this kind of insurance is often a good fit for people looking to transfer wealth. A Second To Die policy is typically written on a husband and wife and pays the beneficiary, often a trust, following the death of the second insured person so as to cover estate taxes or fund the trust.

Babies are born. Business are bought and sold. All too often life moves quickly and often the coverage that was right at the time you purchased it may not be the best fit in the future. The best way to make sure your coverage is keeping up with your life’s, or businesses, changing needs is by reviewing your coverage with your agent at least once a year.
